The Independent Cat Society is dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and finding loving forever homes for homeless felines. For nearly 50 years, we have been committed to reducing pet overpopulation and promoting the humane treatment of cats across Northwest Indiana.
Our Mission Since 1977
Established as a non-profit, no-kill shelter, our organization was founded to serve as a sanctuary for cats in transition. We believe in building a community where responsible pet ownership is the standard, and we strive to address feline welfare through education and proactive community programs.
How We Help
Operating from our facility in Westville, Indiana, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where every cat's healthcare and socialization needs are prioritized while they await their new families. Beyond our shelter walls, we actively combat overpopulation through robust Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiatives and discounted spay/neuter services for the community.
