Our Century of Care
Founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949, we have grown from our humble beginnings in a citizen’s backyard to become the only animal shelter in Windsor and Essex County. As a registered not-for-profit charity, we rely on the incredible generosity of our community to fulfill our mission of promoting responsible pet ownership and compassion for all living things.
How We Help
We are a dedicated team committed to eliminating animal suffering caused by overpopulation, neglect, and abuse through rescue services, public education, and accessible veterinary care. Our shelter acts as a vital community hub where we offer specialized programs like our spay/neuter clinic and pet food bank to ensure that pets and their families receive the support they need. Last year alone, over 15,000 animals received care through our shelter and clinic doors.
