At the Brandywine Valley SPCA, we are dedicated to ending animal suffering and empowering communities to find the heart in humanity. We strive to put the human back in humane animal treatment, advocating for every pet that comes through our doors.
A History of Compassion
Founded in 1929, our organization has grown into the region's largest animal welfare group, serving communities across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. We are proud of our history of innovation, including leading Delaware to become the nation's first no-kill state and operating as one of the few open-access shelters in our service areas.
How We Care
We believe every animal deserves a chance to thrive. Whether in our shelters or through our dedicated foster networks, our residents receive individual enrichment and high-quality medical care, including spay/neuter services and behavioral support. Our work extends beyond the shelter, providing low-cost veterinary clinics, pet food assistance, and support for families to ensure they can keep the pets they love.
