Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue, Inc. (GOFAR) is dedicated to being a voice for the voiceless by removing animals from abusive, neglectful, or dangerous situations. We are committed to providing medical care, restoration, and permanent, loving homes for those in need.
Our Story
Founded on April 27, 2021, by a passionate group of professional women, our organization was born from a collective desire to make a greater impact across South and Central Florida. We recognized an unending need for resources to save animals from kill shelters, puppy mills, and life on the streets. Today, our leadership team continues to leverage decades of experience to ensure every animal receives the support they deserve.
How We Operate
We believe that every animal matters, which is why we utilize a unique, hybrid approach to rescue. While we maintain a dedicated kennel facility, we also rely on a vital network of foster families to provide quiet, home-based environments for those recovering from illness or needing extra socialization. This ensures each dog or cat in our care receives the individual attention they need to thrive before finding their forever family.
Building Your New Family
We strive to do everything humanly possible to ensure that our rescued animals—who have often endured so much—find the perfect, permanent match. Our thoughtful adoption process helps us learn about your routine, family, and preferences to ensure a harmonious bond between you and your new pack member. We are 100% volunteer-based, and we are honored to work with you as you prepare to bring a new family member home.
