The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is an animal resource center dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of companion animals. We work tirelessly to build lifelong bonds between pets and people through adoption, humane education, and community outreach.
Since our founding in 1901, we have evolved from a small society into a vital regional hub for animal welfare. Today, we proudly serve as a resource for three counties across three states, continuing a long-standing commitment to the animals that share our lives and our community.
Operating as a 501(c)3 non-profit at Kinsey’s Campus, we provide medical and behavioral interventions for over 2,900 animals annually. Our shelter is more than just a facility; it is a safe harbor where dedicated staff and a strong volunteer network create pathways to new, loving homes for every healthy and treatable animal in our care.
Adopting an animal is a joyful, life-changing partnership, and we are here to ensure you find the right addition to your family. Our adoption process is designed to be supportive and transparent, focusing on the unique needs of both the pet and the adopter to ensure a successful transition into your home.
We invite you to visit us at our shelter to meet your potential new best friend in person. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our mission, you can explore our current adoptable animals or browse our services on our website. We look forward to helping you make a difference in a shelter animal's life.
