Our Story
Since 1944, a small group of dedicated citizens has grown into a cornerstone of our community. For over 80 years, we have evolved to provide essential sheltering, animal control, and support services to ensure every pet in Arlington County can stay healthy, happy, and home.
How We Care
We pride ourselves on being an open-access shelter, meaning we accept any animal from our jurisdiction regardless of their condition. Today, we utilize a foster-focused sheltering model, with a vast network of dedicated volunteers opening their homes to pets while they wait for their new families. By combining our professional shelter facility with the warmth of foster care, we ensure our animals receive the love and space they need to thrive.
