Summit's Sanctuary strives to provide comfort, compassion, and care to animals in need while engaging the hearts and minds of our community to ensure that no animal is ever endangered or abandoned.
Our sanctuary was born from a desire to honor the memory of Summit, a beloved white Labrador and certified therapy dog who spent years helping students overcome emotional challenges. Inspired by his purpose-driven life, our director Lisa Chandler founded this organization to provide the same level of care and support to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in North East Alabama and North West Georgia.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we rely on the dedication of our volunteers and foster network to provide a safe, nurturing environment for dogs awaiting their forever homes. We are committed to ensuring every animal in our care receives the medical attention, vaccinations, and love they deserve while preparing for their next chapter.
We believe that adopting is a partnership, which is why we focus on making the best possible match by considering each dog's unique personality and your family's lifestyle. Our careful, thorough adoption process ensures that every placement is intended to be a lifelong commitment, creating a joyful, lasting bond for both the pet and the adopter.
