Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is dedicated to rescuing cats from substandard living conditions and providing them with the medical care, emotional support, and loving environment they deserve. We believe there is a home for every cat, and a cat for every home.
Founded in 2020 by a small group of experienced rescuers, we are a registered Canadian charity that is 100% volunteer-driven. We work to address the needs of cats in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, relying entirely on community support and our dedicated volunteer team to save lives.
We operate primarily through a network of compassionate foster homes where cats are treated as family members. For those ready for their next chapter, we also maintain an adoption centre at the PetSmart on North Queen Street in Etobicoke, staffed by volunteers seven days a week. This blend of home-based socialization and centre-based care ensures every cat is prepared to thrive in a forever home.
Our goal is to create successful, lasting partnerships between our cats and their new families. Our volunteers take great care to provide realistic personality profiles for each animal, ensuring that we find the best possible match for both the pet and the adopter. Every cat in our care is microchipped and spayed or neutered before adoption, ensuring they are ready for a healthy start in their new life.
We invite you to browse our loveable adoptable cats or learn more about how you can support our mission through fostering, volunteering, or donating. Whether you are ready to welcome a new family member or want to contribute to our lifesaving efforts, we would love to hear from you.
