Spay The Strays, Inc.
Our Mission
Spay the Strays is dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned, and at-risk cats, giving them a second chance at a happy life. We believe that while saving one cat may not change the world, for that one cat, their world changes forever.
A History of Hope
Founded in 2006 by Anita Sanders after a single rescued cat named Callie changed the direction of her life, our organization has grown into an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We serve the Central Florida community by advocating for responsible pet ownership and working to reduce cat overpopulation.
Our Foster-Based Care
Unlike a traditional animal shelter, Spay the Strays is a foster-based rescue. Every cat in our program lives in a volunteer foster home where they receive individualized care, medical attention, and socialization while they wait for their forever families.
A Perfect Match
We believe adoption is a lifelong commitment, and our goal is to create the best possible partnership between you and your new companion. Because our cats live in home environments, our volunteers learn each cat's unique personality and needs, allowing us to guide you toward a truly meaningful match.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to browse our adoptable cats to find your new best friend or visit us at our adoption events held at local PetSmart and Petco partners. If you are ready to start your journey or have questions, please feel free to reach out to our team at 407-460-2305 or visit our website to learn more about how you can help us continue saving lives.
