Halifax Humane Society exists to champion pets and empower their people. We envision a world where all pets and people live their best lives together through compassion, innovation, and community collaboration.
Our Story
Since 1937, we have served the Daytona Beach area, growing from a small local society into one of the region’s leading animal welfare organizations. For nearly 90 years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of pets and families, moving beyond traditional shelter walls to become a comprehensive community lifeline.
How We Help
Today, we provide much more than just a safe place to land; we offer affordable veterinary care, behavioral support, and vital resources to keep pets in their homes. Our dedicated team at the Lohman Pet Adoption Center manages an open-admission facility where every animal receives medical care, vaccinations, and training to help them transition successfully into new homes.

We believe that every family deserves the joy of unconditional love, which is why we focus on thoughtful adoptions and ongoing post-adoption support. Through our unique Open Paw program, our staff and volunteers teach manners and essential skills to our animals, ensuring they are ready to thrive in your home.
