Our History and Community Commitment
Founded in 1992 to provide a necessary alternative to traditional municipal animal control in the Salem, New Hampshire area, we have grown from rescuing 157 animals in our first year to supporting nearly 800 dogs and cats annually. Today, we remain deeply rooted in our community, working in partnership with local residents and organizations to promote humane care and responsible animal welfare.

We are a proud no-kill shelter, meaning we never euthanize due to limitations of space or time. Our dedicated team provides a safe and supportive environment for animals in need, and we are committed to reducing pet overpopulation through our comprehensive spay/neuter services.
