Our Mission
At the Caroline County Humane Society, we believe every animal deserves safety, compassion, and a loving home. We work every day to protect and advocate for the animals of Caroline County through life-saving sheltering, community programs, and adoptions.
Our Story
Founded in the mid-1980s and re-established in 1994, our organization is rooted in a deep commitment to our local animals. Today, we are proud to serve as an Open Door, Open Heart shelter, providing a critical safety net for approximately 1,500 homeless, neglected, or abandoned animals each year.
How We Help
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, we operate the county shelter to provide essential care, including medical treatment, enrichment, and a safe place to stay for every animal that comes through our doors. Beyond our facility, we support the community with vital services like low-cost spay and neuter clinics, a pet pantry, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiatives. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that pets and their families have the resources they need to thrive together.
