Our Mission
At the SPCA Serving Allegany County, our mission is to provide dedicated care for the abandoned, neglected, and abused companion animals within our community. We are committed to ensuring these animals receive the compassion they deserve while they wait for their new families.
Our Community Impact
Since our founding, we have worked to be a pillar of support for animals in need. Our reach expanded significantly in 2015 when we launched our own Spay & Neuter clinic, made possible by a generous grant from the ASPCA and matched by community donors, allowing us to help manage local animal populations effectively.
How We Operate
Our shelter in Belmont serves as a safe haven where change is constant, with animals arriving in need of care and moving on to their forever homes daily. We operate seven days a week to ensure every animal receives consistent, high-quality attention. Beyond daily shelter operations, we actively support our community through programs like our Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) services for outdoor and community cats.
