Our Roots
Established in 1988, Pets Alive is one of the oldest no-kill organizations in the United States. Our story began with Brandy, an abandoned golden retriever who saved a child’s life, becoming the inspiration for a sanctuary that continues to provide safety and love to animals in need today.
How We Help
Located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, we operate a facility that welcomes dogs, cats, farm animals, and other small creatures. Many of our residents are seniors or animals with special needs who require the patient, expert care our dedicated staff and volunteers provide every day.
