The Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for companion animals in our region by promoting better futures for pets and their people. A Legacy of Compassion
Founded in 1891, we are proud to be the oldest non-profit animal welfare organization in our region and one of the oldest continuously operating organizations of our kind in the country. For over 135 years, we have served our community by providing a safe haven for animals in need and offering vital resources to the people who love them.
How We Help
We operate as a dedicated animal shelter, providing medical care, behavioral support, and a loving environment for animals while they wait for their forever families. Beyond our shelter walls, we actively serve our community through affordable spay/neuter clinics, vaccination services, and a pet food pantry designed to help keep pets and their people together during times of financial hardship.
