Cat Care Society is a safe and enriching place for all cats on their journey to a loving home. We are dedicated to providing compassionate care, shelter, and adoption services while fostering community engagement for everyone who loves cats.

Our Story

Founded in 1981, we were established to improve the quality of life for cats in need throughout the Denver metro area. Over our 40-plus year history, we have remained a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, relying solely on the generous support of individuals to fund our life-saving medical treatments and shelter operations.

Our Unique Approach

We are a limited-admission, free-roaming cat shelter located in Lakewood, Colorado. By utilizing cages only when medically necessary, we give cats the space to play, lounge, and socialize in a comfortable, low-stress environment. We believe every cat is worthy of dignity and love, regardless of their age or physical abilities, and we proudly care for many cats with specialized medical needs.
