Our Mission
At Animal Friends Humane Society, our mission is to promote humane principles, protect lost, homeless, abandoned, and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for those in our communities who cannot speak for themselves.
Our History and Community Impact
Established in 1952, we are proud to be Butler County’s oldest and largest non-profit animal shelter. In 2009, we moved into our current 22,500-square-foot facility in Hamilton, Ohio, which offers top-notch amenities designed specifically to provide the best possible care for our shelter population.
Providing Second Chances
Every year, more than 5,000 animals come through our doors, each receiving individual care, nutritious food, and the medical attention they deserve. We rely on the generous support of our community to maintain our high live release rates, utilizing nationally recognized best practices for animal shelters to ensure every pet gets the best chance at a happy life.
