Heal Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill adoption center and sanctuary dedicated to providing quality care, shelter, and respect to animals in need. We serve as a voice for those who cannot speak, working to rescue and inspire others to become advocates for all animals.
Founded in 2006 by Candy Valentino, our organization was built on a passion for helping senior and special needs dogs. Since opening our doors in 2009, we have grown from a local adoption center into a comprehensive sanctuary that now provides a peaceful refuge for a wide range of species, including farm animals, at our 62-acre site in Latrobe.
Our work centers on rehabilitation and compassion at two specialized locations. Our Youngwood Adoption Center provides a safe, temporary home for homeless companion animals, while our farm sanctuary provides long-term care and enrichment for animals rescued from neglect and abuse. We are proud to be supported by a dedicated community of volunteers, staff, and donors who make every life-saving rescue possible.
Adopting from Heal is about more than finding a pet; it is about nurturing a life-long connection between people and animals. We believe in the therapeutic power of the human-animal bond and invite our community, including families and schools, to visit our facilities to witness firsthand the healing power of compassion.
Are you ready to make a difference in an animal's life? We invite you to meet our wonderful adoptable dogs and cats at our Youngwood location or learn more about our mission by visiting our website. Together, we can continue to stop the cycle of abuse and ensure every animal finds the love they deserve.
