West Sound PAWS is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and sustaining the bond of companionship between pets and their people. We believe in providing direct services that support the health and well-being of both animals and their families.
Our History and Community
Since our founding in 1975, West Sound PAWS has served as a vital presence on Bainbridge Island and throughout North Kitsap. Over the last five decades, we have evolved to meet the community's needs, growing from early notions of rescue and adoption into a comprehensive organization committed to reducing pet overpopulation and facilitating caring relationships.
How We Operate
As a professionally-managed, community-supported organization, our work is driven by a passionate team of staff and volunteers who work side-by-side every day. We maintain dedicated adoption centers in Kingston and Pleasant Beach Village to provide a safe, welcoming space for our animals. Beyond adoption, we operate through a network of volunteer foster families and partner with local veterinary clinics to provide essential medical care and support services.
