Our Mission
The Mendocino Coast Humane Society is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless animals while inspiring public awareness of their needs. We strive to alleviate animal suffering and ensure every pet finds a permanent, loving home.
Our Story
Born from the desire of local residents to provide a humane, no-kill alternative for coastal animals, we have grown significantly since our founding in 1987. Through the generosity of our supporters, we have transformed our facilities into a warm and secure environment for the animals in our care.
How We Care
Our work spans 96 miles of Northern California coastline, supported by a committed team of staff and volunteers. Our Adoption Center features a veterinary clinic, heated indoor dog floors, a dedicated Kitty Cottage, and a grassy exercise lawn to keep our animals healthy and happy while they wait for their forever families.
