K9 Battle Buddies

Welcome to K9 Battle Buddies, a dedicated nonprofit organization that is passionate about rescuing dogs and providing support to our veterans. Established by a combat veteran who experienced the profound impacts of PTSD, our mission is driven by empathy and understanding the challenges faced by those who have served our country. At K9 Battle Buddies, we believe in the healing power of companionship. We focus on rehabilitating and training rescue dogs to become service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Our approach encourages veterans to actively participate in their dog's training, enhancing the bond between them and providing vital support in their journey of recovery. Our organization is firmly rooted in the values of community and collaboration. Inspired by the philosophy that “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much,” we work diligently to create a strong network of support for our veterans. Each partnership not only saves lives but fosters resilience and connection for both the veteran and their canine companion. We are proud to utilize rescued dogs in our program, emphasizing the importance of second chances. Our goal is not only to provide a loyal service dog but to promote a positive breed image for various dogs, including German Shepherds, American Staffordshire Terriers, and more. We demonstrate the loyalty and eagerness to learn that these wonderful breeds possess, not only to veterans but to the wider community. All our battle buddies are placed at no cost to the veteran, reflecting our belief that those who serve should have access to the support they need without financial burden.
