Cape Ann Animal Aid is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to facilitating appropriate placement of adoptable animals and enhancing the lives of all companion animals. We promote respect and well-being through dedicated education and community outreach.

Our History

Our journey began in 1964, when a group of passionate animal lovers formed a rescue group to help local cats and dogs. Over the decades, we have grown from modest beginnings into our current home at the 7,500 square foot Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter in Gloucester, where we have proudly served the community for over a decade.

How We Care

We are deeply committed to providing each animal with the love, medical attention, and time they need to thrive. Our staff and volunteers provide enrichment, social interaction, and regular exercise, ensuring our shelter is a place of comfort while animals wait for their forever homes. Because we are a no-kill organization, no adoptable animal is ever euthanized due to space or length of stay.
