Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter is dedicated to building a community where people and organizations work together to save today's homeless animals and prevent the neglect of tomorrow's. We believe every dog and cat deserves a permanent, loving home.

For more than 53 years, we have served as a pillar of care for animals in need. While our primary focus is rescuing abandoned and neglected animals locally, we also partner with shelters nationwide to save vulnerable pets at risk of euthanasia, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive.

Our Fear Free Approach

As a no-kill shelter, we never euthanize for time or space; every animal in our care is safe until they find their forever home. We are a proud Fear Free facility, utilizing specialized techniques to reduce stress and anxiety for our residents. From our free-roaming catteries to our enriching kennel programs, we provide a nurturing environment supported by dedicated staff and a vital foster network.
