At Pets Lifeline, we are dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of cats and dogs in need in Sonoma Valley through sheltering, adoption, youth education, and community programs. We believe in creating a brighter future for all, helping pets stay safe, healthy, and home.
Our History and Community
Since our founding in 1982 by a group of dedicated community members, Pets Lifeline has served as a cornerstone of the Sonoma Valley. Over the past four decades, we have evolved from a small initiative into a vital resource center, helping more than 20,000 animals find loving homes while providing essential support to the families who love them.

We operate as a private, nonprofit shelter where transparency and compassionate care are our core values. We are proud to implement Fear Free practices to decrease fear, anxiety, and stress for every animal in our care, ensuring their emotional well-being while they await their next chapter. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers provides expert medical treatment, enrichment, and daily care to help every animal thrive.

The Sebastiani Theatre is hosting an afternoon in celebration of the canine stars of film classics, a benefit for Pets Lifeline, on May 31. The fundraiser, “Hollywood Dogs, A Ruff History of Dogs on Film,” begins at 1 p.m.
