Every year, we care for an average of 2,300 animals, and this vital work is made possible by our dedicated staff, volunteers, and the generous support of our neighbors. By participating in programs like our Community Cat initiative and promoting spay/neuter resources, our community plays a central role in keeping pets healthy and safe.

Our shelter serves as a hub of care, enrichment, and hope for animals awaiting their forever homes. We also believe in the power of home-based support, operating a robust foster program that provides extra love and TLC to animals who are not yet ready for adoption due to age, health, or behavioral needs.

City officials said Petaluma’s former contractor, North Bay Animal Services, sent 37 dogs to Miranda’s Rescue, where dozens of animals have been found in mass canine graves.
