At the Alliston & District Humane Society, we are dedicated to providing shelter for stray and unwanted animals, with a heartfelt priority given to those who have been abused or neglected. We believe every animal deserves a safe, loving, and permanent home where they can truly thrive.
Our History and Community
Operating since 1988, we have proudly served the townships of New Tecumseth, Mulmur, and the villages of Cookstown, Rosemont, Hockley, and the Town of Schomberg for over 37 years. In 2010, we opened our first permanent shelter and adoption centre, creating a dedicated space to bring our community and rescued animals together.
How We Care
As a volunteer-led organization supported by professional medical staff, we operate entirely on the generosity of community donations. Our facility provides comprehensive care, including veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and a robust foster support program. We maintain a proud no-kill commitment for all animals deemed adoptable, ensuring each pet receives the specific medical and social attention they need while awaiting their next chapter.
