Our Mission

Together, we can improve the lives of cats in our community. The mission of the Karma Cat Rescue Society is to provide a safe and peaceful haven for homeless, abandoned, or abused animals, helping to decrease the number of cats in kill shelters through adoption, trap-neuter-return, and education.

Our Story

Founded in 2010 by sisters Christie and Michelle Arlotta, we began as Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society with the goal of shedding a positive light on animal rescue. In 2023, we rebranded as the Karma Cat Rescue Society to fully focus our strengths on what we do best—cats!

How We Operate

We are a volunteer-run, New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that thrives on community collaboration. Our operations at our Milltown Adoption Center and through our dedicated foster network are powered by the 'Karma Cat Circle,' a unique organizational structure where our teams, including medical, socializing, and fostering, work together to support one another and the cats in our care.
