Our Mission
The Pensacola Humane Society promotes the compassionate and humane treatment of cats and dogs by providing resources and services to improve their welfare. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in crisis while nurturing the deep bond between pets and people.
Our Story
Since our incorporation in 1943, we have grown from a small operation into a thriving community of staff and volunteers. In 1985, we proudly became a no-kill facility, a commitment we continue to uphold today as we work toward our goal of making Pensacola a community where every healthy animal finds a loving home.
Our Care Model
We operate a dedicated shelter facility where dogs and cats receive food, medical care, and affection until they are ready for their forever families. We are guided by the Five Freedoms, which ensure each animal's physical and mental well-being by providing proper nutrition, a comfortable environment, preventative health care, and opportunities for natural behavior and enrichment.
