Our Mission
The Lakes Area Humane Society is dedicated to promoting responsible pet care and training through education and public awareness. We provide a safe, sheltering haven for lost and abandoned animals while we help them transition into their perfect permanent homes.
Our History
Formed in 1989 by a group of concerned citizens, we were driven by a collective desire to make a lasting difference for animals in our community. Over the decades, we have stayed true to our roots as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on animal welfare, public service, and community support.
How We Care
We believe in providing the best possible care for every animal that enters our doors. Our facility serves as a refuge where animals receive professional attention, behavior counseling, and the medical care they need, supported by our ongoing commitment to microchipping and community education.
Your Adoption Journey
Finding a new family member is a joyful experience, and we are here to ensure the process is smooth and thoughtful. We invite you to spend time getting to know our pets, and we even offer a 24-hour hold or a 'Trial for Adoption' contract to make sure every pet is a perfect fit for your home and lifestyle.
