Our Mission
Friends of the Animals is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in Southern Oregon. We achieve this by facilitating adoptions, providing necessary medical care, and offering valuable education and resources to our local community.
Our Commitment to the Rogue Valley
Established in 1991, Friends of the Animals began by supporting the Jackson County Animal Shelter, helping pets find their forever homes faster while improving their daily lives. Today, we have evolved to address the root causes of animal homelessness by expanding our focus toward comprehensive prevention, including low-cost spay and neuter services and essential vaccination clinics.
How We Help Animals Thrive
Our work is powered by a dedicated network of volunteers who serve as foster parents, providing nurturing homes-between-homes for pets who need extra care, such as those recovering from surgery or too young for adoption. By operating our own Community Spay & Neuter Clinic and coordinating monthly vaccination drives, we actively reduce overpopulation and keep pets healthy. We also partner with other rescue organizations to maximize our impact across the region.
