Our Mission
Second Chance Humane Society is dedicated to improving the lives of animals by fostering the human-animal bond. We believe in compassion, action, resourcefulness, and integrity in everything we do for pets in need.
Our History and Community
Since 1994, we have proudly served Ouray, San Miguel, and Montrose Counties by addressing the needs of homeless pets. We continue to grow our reach, recently expanding our services to include the operation of the Delta Animal Shelter to better serve local residents.
A Home-Like Environment
Our work centers on our 52-acre property, Angel Ridge Ranch, where we rehabilitate and nurture hundreds of pets each year. Cats enjoy comfortable, room-based living with catios and climbing structures, while our canine residents thrive in Smitty’s Dog Den, which features both indoor rooms and spacious outdoor play areas.
