The Animal Rescue Coalition of Mecosta County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing humane services to homeless and abandoned animals. We are committed to improving the lives of the dogs and cats throughout our community.
ARC began in 2011 when a group of concerned animal lovers joined forces to address the needs of local pets. Since then, we have grown into Mecosta County’s only animal shelter, serving as a safe haven for animals of every breed and age.
As a proud no-kill shelter, we ensure that no animal is ever euthanized due to a lack of space. Our facility is designed for comfort, featuring two outdoor exercise areas for dogs and open, stress-free environments for our cats. Our volunteers spend significant quality time with each animal, ensuring they are happy, healthy, and ready to meet their new families.
Adoption is the loving option and a wonderful way to find your next best friend. When you choose to adopt, you are not just providing a home; you are saving a life and participating in a meaningful partnership. We invite you to consider adoption as you look to welcome a new companion into your home.
We invite you to visit our shelter in Big Rapids to meet our current residents, or check our gallery to see who is waiting for a forever home. You can also support our mission by volunteering your time or donating to our cause. Together, we can continue to make a lasting difference for the animals of Mecosta County.
