Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is dedicated to serving our community by providing a safe haven for thousands of pets each year, focusing on positive outcomes and compassionate care. We are committed to helping families stay together and finding loving, forever homes for every animal in our care.
Founded in the 1960s, our organization has grown significantly to meet the needs of Pima County’s pets and people. In 2017, we became our own standalone department, allowing us to modernize our facilities and better support our community's annual intake of 19,000 to 23,000 animals.
As Pima County’s open-admission shelter, we operate with transparency and heart, managing two locations: our main Westside facility on Silverbell Road and our Eastside PACC Adoption Center (EPAC) on Broadway Blvd. Beyond providing shelter, we offer vital resources through our Pet Support Center to help pet owners in crisis with veterinary funding, behavioral guidance, and supplies, keeping pets in the homes that love them.
Adoption is the start of a beautiful, lifelong partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. Whether you are browsing our adoptable dogs or looking to welcome a new cat into your home, our team of counselors is dedicated to ensuring a joyful, supportive experience for both you and your new companion.
We invite you to see all the wonderful animals currently waiting for their second chance on our website or by visiting us at either our Westside or Eastside locations. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our community's pets—come visit us today to meet your next family member!
