Our Mission
Blackdog Club is dedicated to providing rescue, rehabilitation, and training for dogs pulled from high-kill, rural animal shelters throughout the South. We are committed to giving every companion dog a second chance at a loving home.
Understanding the Need
We focus our efforts specifically on black dogs to help overcome the phenomenon known as Black Dog Syndrome. Research suggests that large black dogs are often overlooked in shelters due to unconscious biases and the visual challenges they face in kennel environments, making them less likely to be adopted.
Our Care Model
Our approach centers on professional rehabilitation and training to ensure our rescues are ready for their new families. By providing a safe environment and specialized care, we help these wonderful animals transition successfully from high-kill rural shelters to the companionship they deserve.
