At the Hinsdale Humane Society, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of animals and the people who care for them. Through innovative programs, community education, and compassionate advocacy, we strive to nurture the human-animal bond and promote the well-being of every animal in our care and beyond.
Our journey began in 1953 when six forward-thinking women founded the society to replace inadequate local facilities with a safe and sanitary environment for animals. Over the last 72 years, we have grown from those humble beginnings into a leading community resource and the first humane society in DuPage County.
Today, we operate the state-of-the-art Tuthill Family Pet Rescue & Resource Center, a facility designed to provide exceptional care, including specialized support for animals with unique placement needs. Our model combines high-quality shelter environments with an active foster network, ensuring that each pet receives the individual attention they deserve while awaiting their forever home.
We believe that adopting a pet is the beginning of a joyful, lifelong partnership. Our team is committed to making thoughtful matches that respect both the animal's needs and the lifestyle of the adopter, fostering long-term success for every family. We provide full transparency in our process, ensuring that your transition to becoming a pet parent is supported, informed, and truly rewarding.
