Our History
Our journey began in 1953 when six forward-thinking women founded the society to replace inadequate local facilities with a safe and sanitary environment for animals. Over the last 72 years, we have grown from those humble beginnings into a leading community resource and the first humane society in DuPage County.

Today, we operate the state-of-the-art Tuthill Family Pet Rescue & Resource Center, a facility designed to provide exceptional care, including specialized support for animals with unique placement needs. Our model combines high-quality shelter environments with an active foster network, ensuring that each pet receives the individual attention they deserve while awaiting their forever home.
