The Stephens County Humane Society is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless dogs and cats in need. We work tirelessly to ensure every animal entrusted to our care is rehomed successfully and as quickly as possible.
Incorporated in 1983, we have served as a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization for over four decades. We exist to provide shelter, food, medical care, and love to animals in our community, whether they arrive as owner surrenders or country strays.
From our facility located in Duncan, Oklahoma, we offer a dedicated shelter environment for animals of all ages. Last year alone, we provided essential care for over 1,200 animals, ranging from newborn puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats seeking their forever retirement homes. Beyond housing, we actively educate the public on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and spaying or neutering.
We believe every pet deserves a loving family, and we love them all while they are in our care. Our mission is to facilitate joyful partnerships between rescued animals and the families who choose to adopt them. By advocating for caring ownership, we ensure that our pets find the stable, happy environments they deserve.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to explore our current adoptable pets, visit our shelter in Duncan, or contact us at (580) 252-7387 to learn more about our mission. We are here to help you find the perfect companion and provide you with all the support you need to give them a New Leash on Life.
