At the Madison County Humane Society, our mission is to help homeless cats and dogs find loving forever homes while advocating for the humane treatment of every animal. We are dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership and helping lost pets reunite with their families.
Our History and Commitment
Founded in 1973, we have served as a private, no-kill animal rescue and shelter in Anderson, Indiana for over 45 years. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we operate entirely on the generosity of our community through donations and fundraising, receiving no taxpayer monies to sustain our vital work.
How We Care for Animals
Our facility serves as a safe haven for 100-115 homeless animals every single day, with many others thriving in our supportive foster care network. We provide medical attention, nutrition, and daily care, ensuring every animal receives the attention they deserve while they wait to meet their new families.
