Our Mission
Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter is a dedicated community-supported nonprofit committed to ending euthanasia in our region and bringing real hope to the Mojave. We provide a safe haven for abandoned and homeless pets as they patiently wait for their forever homes.
Our History and Our Community
Since our doors first opened in 1981, we have been built on a foundation of local generosity and unwavering community support. Our organization began in 1972 when Kay Baker donated 3.5 acres of land, and today we continue that legacy as the only no-kill shelter in the Morongo Basin.
How We Care for Our Animals
We are a small shelter with a big mission, treating every animal as an individual to ensure they have the best chance at a happy, stable life. Our animals receive time, care, and support to heal and decompress, whether they are waiting in our facility or thriving in our foster network. We pride ourselves on transparency, honesty, and a deeply held belief in the value of every life.
