Our Mission
Since 1977, the Quad City Animal Welfare Center has been dedicated to saving lives one animal at a time. We operate a dedicated shelter for homeless animals, provide a vital spay and neuter program, and offer humane education to ensure a brighter future for pets and the people who love them.

As the only full-service, no-kill shelter serving the Quad-Cities area, we are proud to be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that relies solely on the generosity of our community. Over the decades, we have expanded our facilities in Milan, Illinois, to better serve our neighbors and provide a safe, modern environment for animals awaiting their forever homes.
How We Care for Animals
We believe in providing the highest quality of care for every pet that comes through our doors. Our Adoption & Education Center provides a professional, nurturing environment where animals are examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and tested for specific health conditions before they find their new families.
