The Wayne County Humane Society is dedicated to finding committed, permanent homes for companion animals while measurably reducing overpopulation and promoting humane values in our community.

A Legacy of Compassion

Since 1973, our independent, non-profit shelter has served the animals of Wooster, Ohio, and the surrounding Wayne County area. We were founded by local community members and remain completely self-funded, relying on the generosity of local donors, businesses, and volunteers to continue our lifesaving work.

Our facility provides quality veterinary care, including mandatory spay/neuter services, to ensure every pet is ready for a healthy life in their new home.
