A New Leash on Life, Inc.
Our Mission
A New Leash on Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving homeless dogs and cats across North Alabama. We work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals, ensuring every pet receives a second chance at a loving, permanent home.
Why We Rescue
Since 2004, we have served the communities of Huntsville, Madison, and the greater North Alabama region. Through sustained rescue efforts and community partnerships, we have helped our local area achieve a live release rate above 90%, marking a significant shift toward becoming a true no-kill community.
How We Help
Our work is made possible by a dedicated network of volunteers, fosters, and donors who support our mission. We provide comprehensive medical care, including spay and neuter services, while offering temporary placement in our Lifesaving Centers or through our foster network. Our thrift boutiques also play an essential role in funding this vital lifesaving work.
The Adopter Connection
We believe in the power of a perfect match, focusing on thoughtful connections between our rescues and your family. By understanding your lifestyle and home, our knowledgeable volunteers help ensure every adoption is a success, creating lifelong bonds between pets and people.
