The Haines Animal Rescue Kennel (HARK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding appropriate, loving homes for animals in need while educating our community on responsible pet care.
Founded in 2001 by a group of local residents, HARK was born out of a desire to promote the best interests of pets in Haines. We are a federally recognized non-profit governed by a board of directors, and we are proud to be sustained by the generous support of our donors and members.
Our shelter operates with the help of an Executive Director, staff, and a dedicated team of volunteers and foster families who provide a safe environment for animals while they wait for their perfect match. We go the extra mile to support health and wellness by providing access to grooming, assistance with spay and neuter services, and even temporary supplies for pet owners. Through the support of community grants, we continuously strive to improve our facility to ensure our animals have the best possible care and play areas.
We believe adoption is the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong partnership, which is why we focus on making sure every animal is the right match for your home and lifestyle. We strive to ensure every pet is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before they head home, setting you and your new family member up for a lifetime of health and happiness.
Are you ready to welcome a new companion into your life? We invite you to browse our available animals online or visit us at our Small Tracts Road location to meet your next family member today.
