Humane Society of Kodiak Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Kodiak is committed to preventing animal cruelty, reducing the homeless and abandoned pet population, and promoting the proper care of animals. We believe in building a more compassionate community where every pet is treated with the love and dignity they deserve.
Our History
Since 1995, we have been proud to operate the only animal shelter in the Kodiak Archipelago. As a local, independent 501(c)(3) non-profit, we work tirelessly to serve the city, the Borough, local villages, and the Coast Guard Base, driven by our belief in creating a better world for our furry friends.
How We Care
We are an open-admission facility that provides a safe haven for animals in transition. Our shelter team works hard to ensure pets are healthy and happy through veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter programs. When a shelter environment isn't the perfect fit, our dedicated foster network provides a nurturing home for animals to heal, socialize, and thrive while they wait for their new families.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we are here to help you find a companion that fits your lifestyle perfectly. By taking the time to understand the unique personalities and needs of our animals, we ensure that every adoption is a successful, long-term partnership. Our goal is to see every animal we care for settle into a loving forever home.
