Our Mission
The Calgary Animal Rescue Society is dedicated to helping animals in need find their fur-ever homes through compassion, dedication, and teamwork. We work tirelessly to transform the lives of unwanted and abandoned animals into beloved family pets.
Who We Are
Founded by a passionate group of volunteers, our organization includes foster parents, event coordinators, and board members who share a singular commitment to animal welfare. We partner with rescues across Alberta, Canada, and internationally to bring home dogs and cats that might otherwise lack a permanent future. Beyond rescue, we are proud to visit schools to educate the next generation on the importance of compassion.
Our Foster-Based Model
Because we are a foster-based rescue, we do not operate a central shelter facility. Instead, our animals thrive in the loving environment of private foster homes, where they receive necessary veterinary care, socialization, and training. Our amazing network of foster families provides the critical support each animal needs before transitioning to their final home.
The Adoption Partnership
Finding the perfect match is at the heart of our mission. When you submit an application, we carefully assess the suitability of a family to ensure a long-term, happy union. If a specific pet isn't the right fit, we remain committed to helping you find an animal that truly aligns with your lifestyle and family needs.
