High Country Humane

Our Mission

High Country Humane transforms lives by providing exceptional animal care and adoption services, supporting and strengthening the bond between pets and people, and advocating for the well-being of all animals.

Our Story

Founded in 2019, High Country Humane emerged from a dedicated community task force committed to establishing a new level of care for animals in Flagstaff and Coconino County. We are a lifeline for pets in need, and our existence is rooted in a unified vision to improve the lives of companion animals and the people who love them.

How We Help

We operate as a community-centered shelter dedicated to giving animals the care, compassion, and second chances they deserve. Through a combination of on-site shelter care, an extensive foster network, and essential community programs like our pet food bank and low-cost veterinary services, we work every day to ensure pets stay healthy, happy, and connected to their families.

Finding Your Perfect Match

When you adopt from High Country Humane, you are not just gaining a companion; you are saving a life and opening space for the next animal in need. Our dedicated team works closely with you to ensure a thoughtful, supportive, and joyful adoption process that celebrates the unique bond between you and your new furry best friend.

Join Our Community

Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our programs, there are many ways to get involved in our mission. We invite you to browse our current adoptable pets online, visit our campus to meet your future companion, or join our community of supporters today. Let’s work together to create a society where every pet has the loving future they deserve.
