Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing essential financial and volunteer support to the homeless, ill, injured, and abandoned animals of Mohave County. We strive to be a reputable, ethical community of advocates working to give every animal the second chance they deserve.
Our organization was formed in 2019 when the Mohave County Board of Supervisors took over operations of the local shelter. Recognizing the immediate need for supplemental medical and volunteer support to maintain a high standard of care, our group stepped in to serve as the community backbone for our local shelter animals.
As an open-intake facility, the Mohave County Animal Shelter accepts all domestic animals in need. We operate with a no-kill ethic, which means we apply the same compassionate criteria that a conscientious veterinarian or family pet owner would when determining an animal's future, ensuring that healthy and treatable animals receive the care and resources they require to thrive.
We believe that every adoption is a joyful partnership. To ensure your new companion is ready for their forever home, all pets come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and dogs are microchipped. Every adoption also includes a free vet exam from participating Kingman veterinarians to give your new family member the healthiest possible start.
You can make a difference today by choosing to adopt, volunteer, or support our upcoming events. We invite you to browse our available pets online, visit us at our Kingman location, or reach out to our team to learn how you can become a part of our community. Together, we can build a future where every animal is cherished and well-cared for.
