At Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, we are dedicated to serving the people and pets of our community by fostering a safe environment and reducing the homeless pet population. We believe that animal homelessness is a community challenge that requires a collective, compassionate solution.
As one of the nation’s largest open-admission shelters, we provide a vital safety net for lost, surrendered, and stray dogs across Maricopa County. We are committed to finding positive outcomes for every animal in our care, maintaining a save rate of approximately 94% through collaboration and dedicated support.
Our work takes place across our East and West Valley Animal Care Centers, as well as our Everyday Adoption Center in Scottsdale. Every dog in our care receives core vaccinations, microchipping, and daily enrichment, with spay/neuter services provided to ensure they are ready for their new homes. We rely on the hard work of our staff and volunteers to provide daily exercise and love to the animals while they wait for their families.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find your perfect match. Whether you are searching for a new best friend or looking to volunteer, your involvement makes a tangible difference in the lives of our animals. We invite you to be part of our community effort to build a pet-friendly environment where every animal is cherished.
