Our Mission
Our mission is clear: to save the most vulnerable animals and enrich the lives of pets and people. We serve as a dedicated safety net for the sick, injured, and abused animals in our community.
A Legacy of Compassion
Since 1957, we have grown from a small group of volunteers into the state's largest animal welfare and protection agency. We believe in being bold, leading the industry with innovative, first-of-their-kind programs that ensure every pet has a second chance at a good life.
Our Care Model
We believe in an Ethical No-Kill Philosophy, meaning we never euthanize a pet for space or length of time. Our campuses utilize a holistic care model led by our Animal Care and Experience team, focusing on sensory experiences and environmental enrichment to keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever homes.

10/13 - Robin is dressed to impress for our 28th Annual Compassion with Fashion, presented by @fetchpetinsurance 🧡✨ Once an orphaned puppy receiving around-the-clock care in our Bottle Baby ICU, Robin is now thriving in her forever home! Lifesaving stories like hers are possible thanks to our incredible @azcompassionwithfashion supporters. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on October 18 at our biggest fundraising events of the year! 🥂

10/5 - To help grow Arizona’s veterinarian workforce, the board approved an update to the Veterinary Loan Assistance Program. Under the updated policy, vets who agree to practice four years in Arizona receive: 🐾 Up to $200,000 in loan forgiveness 🐾 One-quarter of award amount after each year of service
