Our Mission
Our mission is to save the most vulnerable animals and enrich the lives of pets and people. We serve as a dedicated partner to our community, ensuring every animal receives the care and compassion they deserve.
A History of Compassion
Since 1957, we have grown into Arizona’s largest animal welfare and protection agency. Our journey culminated in the February 2024 opening of the Rob & Melani Walton Papago Park Campus, a state-of-the-art facility designed to transform animal welfare in the Valley for decades to come.
Our System of Care
We are an animal hospital first and foremost, providing specialized care for sick, injured, and abandoned pets. Our innovative campus features a revolutionary trauma hospital, dedicated ICUs, and Fear Free certified practices to keep pets comfortable while they heal. By focusing on sensory enrichment, behavioral support, and thoughtful environmental design, we ensure our pets thrive while awaiting their forever homes.

10/5 - To help grow Arizona’s veterinarian workforce, the board approved an update to the Veterinary Loan Assistance Program. Under the updated policy, vets who agree to practice four years in Arizona receive: 🐾 Up to $200,000 in loan forgiveness 🐾 One-quarter of award amount after each year of service
