HARTT - Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team
Our Mission
HARTT (Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to the humane capture and rescue of lost, abandoned, and injured animals. We focus on bringing at-risk dogs and cats from the streets into a safe, caring environment.
Why We Do What We Do
Founded to meet a critical community need, we specialize in helping animals that cannot be easily leashed, picked up, or captured through ordinary means. Our passionate team provides the extraordinary patience, specialized equipment, and time required to save lives that would otherwise remain at risk of hunger, injury, or exposure.
Our Specialized Approach
Unlike most rescue groups that focus solely on adoption, we bridge the gap by performing essential field rescue. Using humane, non-harmful techniques—such as box traps and specialized capture gear—we successfully transition fearful or skittish animals into safety. Once secured, our priority is to provide veterinary care and behavioral rehabilitation, giving each animal the foundation they need to thrive.
Finding Your New Best Friend
We believe every animal deserves a comfortable, happy life in a loving home. When you adopt from HARTT, you are partnering with an organization that takes the time to understand each pet's unique temperament and needs. We work closely with our fosters and adopters to ensure a thoughtful match that creates a joyful, lifelong connection.

10/7 - One of the things I love most about being Miss Arizona Teen USA is getting to use this platform to support causes that truly matter. Infinity Sun, the official sunless tanning brand of Miss Arizona USA, is also behind an amazing nonprofit called Sprays for Strays, created to help dogs in need. This year during Scottsdale Fashion Week, money raised through participating spray tans will benefit Sprays for Strays and support HARTT, an incredible rescue organization helping stray, injured and vulnerable dogs get the care they need. I recently had the chance to visit HARTT House, where I met some of the dogs they are caring for, and it was such a special experience. This sweet boy is Vinny. He has been through so much, but he is incredibly loving, happy and full of life. He absolutely stole my heart. If you’re getting ready for Scottsdale Fashion Week, you can glow for a reason. Book your Infinity Sun spray tan, look amazing for Fashion Week, and help us support dogs like Vinny at the same time. A beautiful tan. A beautiful cause. And a chance to help save more dogs. 🤍🐾 @infinitysun @spraysforstrays #MissArizonaTeenUSA #MissArizonaUSA #InfinitySun #SpraysForStrays #HARTT

9/28 - 🐾 Juniper had a big weekend adventure! 🐾 We took this sweet girl up to Prescott to learn more about who she is outside of a busy rescue environment and she absolutely blossomed. She’s gentle, silly, and so easy to fall for. Juniper is available for adoption through @harttaz in Phoenix and she’s ready for her perfect match. ✨ Meet Juniper - Maltese mix with super soft hair - 4 years old 💛 Her personality & quirks: • Great on a leash • Barks when excited — best for a home not in an apartment • Great with other dogs, but would be happy as solo dog (with person/people time) • Fearful of hats/hoods • Treat motivated • Playful • Potty trained • Thrives with structure — sleeps and eats well in her kennel • So loving Juniper is the kind of dog who just wants to understand her world and feel safe with her person. With exposure to new experiences, consistency and kindness, she’ll be an incredible companion.

9/24 - The kittens are SAFE!! 💙💛 When the Walls Whispered 🐾 A family began hearing mysterious sounds coming from their attic. Then they found one tiny kitten outside and safely brought it inside—but the sounds continued. Hoping to find the source, the husband searched the attic but accidentally fell through the drywall. When HARTT arrived, the sounds seemed to be coming from inside the wall. After carefully checking the space between the studs, no kitten was found. HARTT continued searching between the bedrooms when suddenly… A tiny kitten’s head appeared in the opening! 🥹 HARTT quickly and carefully secured the kitten before it could retreat back into hiding. With both kittens now safe, a humane trap was placed in the attic in hopes of safely capturing their mama. Understanding the situation first was critical, especially because the kittens could still be nursing. For now, both kittens are safe with the family while they decide whether to pursue rescue placement or possibly make them permanent members of the family. ❤️ Rescues like this take patience, observation, and the right strategy. Your support makes them possible. Please consider donating to HARTT and helping us continue bringing animals to safety. 🐾 Donate: azhartt.org/donate
